Just like with oh so many things in my life this is one of those things I've been meaning to do for quite some time; a proper journal entry. Originally I had meant to post updates like this every now and then to keep my fan base (rofl!) up to date with what's going on in my life. So here it goes, my first (...and hopefully not last) "What's up!?"

If you've checked out my recent uploads you'll notice I've been trying to learn some basic 3D modeling, so far things are going alright. Some things however are a lot trickier then I thought they would be, among those are UV-mapping and texturing in general. Before I started my little 3D learning project I really had no clue what specular-maps or normal-maps were at all and thought that textures were basically just the "skin" of the model (which I suppose it still is) and that the only information it contained was colors... I couldn't have been more wrong.

So, here's to all those texture artists out there, good job! I'll keep on working on my own 3D-skills and I'll be sure to upload as soon as I feel I've created something cool!

Work

For those of you that do not know (which is most likely about 99% of you) I just got out of university, where I studied storytelling, illustration and all of that good stuff... and obviously right now I'm on the lookout for work. As you might expect with the economy the way it is there really isn't a lot of work out there, but I'm doing my best and I'm sure I'll find something cool... eventually! >:3

If anyone is interested as far as commissions go I'm sure we could work something out, just drop me a note and I'll see what I can do.

Gaming & Anime

Right now the gaming scene couldn't be more boring, seriously. There is absolutely nothing coming out even remotely interesting coming out for another three months! Nothing! ...and matter how much I try to wrap my head around it I just can't understand what the publishers are thinking. I don't know if you have noticed but every god damn title is coming out in October! Every single one! According to a podcast I listen to on a regular basis there are 140 titles coming out in October! 140! Sure, all versions (PS3, XBOX, PC and so on) are counted into those numbers... but still... It's pure madness. How about spreading things out?

As far as anime goes I must admit I've been slacking and not really keeping up to date at all. I did however stumble upon this [link] and I must say I'm a bit disappointed. Except for the new Darker then Black there really isn't a lot that I am all that interested in. I guess the fact that I'm getting older is starting to show, I just don't get excited at all about normal shonen (and specially harem) crap anymore... I just can't watch it.

... and finally he stops ranting! Yes this is it for now, I'm impressed you've come this far and I'm sorry for not having more interesting stuff to write. As with everything else here I'll try and keep it up to date.
